How to Delete Your Account

You can initiate account deletion through either of the following two pathways:

1 Option A: Directly Inside the Mobile App

Open the Vishwa Setu app on your bound smartphone.
Navigate to the bottom menu and tap Profile.
Scroll to the Account & Security section.
Tap Request Account Deletion.
Confirm your OTP to verify ownership of the account. Your deletion request will be processed immediately.

2 Option B: Public Web Request Form (Below)

If you have uninstalled the application or changed your device, you can use the secure form on this page to submit your deletion request directly to our Grievance Officer.

Data Handling & Retention Disclosure

In compliance with Google Play Developer Policy and Indian regulatory standards, below is the transparent breakdown of what information is permanently purged and what is legally retained:

Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted

Account login credentials, password hashes, and active Sanctum API tokens.
Hardware MAC & Device ID Bindings (X-Device-Id), releasing your smartphone hardware from security locks.
Personal identifiers (personal contact name, email address, profile photo).
Push notification tokens, active sessions, and marketing material share histories.

Data Retained Under Statutory Legal Mandates

Tax Invoices & Financial Ledgers: In accordance with the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and Companies Act, 2013, transaction history, GST invoices, and delivery challans are retained for up to 8 years.
Registered Machinery Warranty Certificates: Under the Consumer Protection Act, warranty certificates issued to farmers must be preserved for the statutory warranty coverage duration to honor warranty claims.
System Audit Logs: Immutable operational audit trails are retained in an anonymized, read-only format for regulatory oversight.

Processing Timeline & Verification

Stage 1 (48 Hours): Your request is acknowledged and logged in our audit registry.

Stage 2 (7 Business Days): User credentials are suspended, active sessions revoked, and hardware device bindings cleared.

Stage 3 (Within 30 Days): Complete data scrubbing and archival of statutory records is concluded.
